Arcadius was a Roman emperor. He ruled from 395 to 408 AD. He was the younger son of Theodosius I, and he succeeded his father as emperor of the Eastern Roman Empire. Arcadius was a weak and ineffectual ruler, and he was largely controlled by his wife, Aelia Eudoxia. He died in 408 AD, and he was succeeded by his son, Theodosius II.
