Helmut Lent was born on June 13, 1918. He was a German fighter pilot during World War II and one of the most successful night fighter pilots in history. Lent claimed 110 victories, all of which were achieved at night. He was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves, Swords, and Diamonds, the highest military decoration in Nazi Germany.
