Answer
Constantin Dobrogeanu-Gherea, a Russian-born Romanian social critic and political activist, was an important influence on the work of George Sanielevici. Dobrogeanu-Gherea was a Marxist who believed that the Romanian peasantry was the most oppressed class in society and that its liberation was essential for the achievement of a socialist revolution. Sanielevici's early work was heavily influenced by Dobrogeanu-Gherea's ideas, and he later acknowledged his debt to the older critic.
