John Lubbock was a British anthropologist, archaeologist, banker, and politician. He was one of the first people to advocate for the preservation of archaeological sites and artefacts. He helped to pass the Ancient Monuments Protection Act 1882, which was the first law in the United Kingdom to protect archaeological sites.
