Kathryn Sullivan was born in 1951. She is an American geologist, oceanographer, and NASA astronaut. She was the first American woman to walk in space and the first person to visit the Mariana Trench, the deepest point on Earth. Sullivan has also served as the Administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
