Shigeru Miyamoto joined Nintendo in 1977 after impressing Hiroshi Yamauchi, then the company's president. Miyamoto quickly rose through the ranks and became one of Nintendo's most important creative minds. He is credited with creating many of the company's most popular franchises, including Mario, Donkey Kong, and The Legend of Zelda.
