A. E. van Vogt was a Canadian-born American author of science fiction. He was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and became a naturalized American citizen in 1948. He wrote over 70 novels and numerous short stories, and is best known for his works The World of Null-A, Slan, and The Voyage of the Space Beagle.
