Over 40 films were produced by Iranian film director Abbas Kiarostami during his lifetime. Kiarostami began his career as a documentary filmmaker and director of photography before moving into narrative filmmaking in the 1980s. He is best known for his films Close-Up (1990), Taste of Cherry (1997), and Certified Copy (2010). Kiarostami died in 2016 at the age of 76.
