The 1965 Attempted Coup, also known as the "G30S/PKI" movement, was a failed coup attempt in Indonesia in which six generals and one lieutenant were kidnapped and killed by leftist Indonesian Army officers. Nasution's daughter was one of the five female bodyguards killed during the kidnapping. The coup attempt was blamed on the Indonesian Communist Party (PKI), and led to the mass killings of communists and suspected communists throughout Indonesia.
