Abu Ubayda ibn al-Jarrah was one of the companions of the Prophet Muhammad. He was a military commander and a key figure in the early Islamic conquests. He was also one of the ten people who were promised Paradise by the Prophet. Abu Ubayda took the pledge of allegiance known as Bay'ah al-Ridwan, which was a pledge of allegiance to the Prophet Muhammad and to the Islamic community.
