Adolfo Suárez was a Spanish politician who led multiple political parties during his political career. He was the first president of the Spanish government after the end of the Franco dictatorship, and he led the Union of the Democratic Centre (UCD) from 1977 to 1982. After leaving the UCD, he founded the Democratic and Social Centre (CDS) in 1982, and he led the CDS from 1982 to 1987.
