Following the deaths of Augustus's grandsons and designated heirs Gaius and Lucius Caesar, Agrippa's son Lucius was adopted by Augustus and became his heir. However, Lucius also passed away, leaving Agrippina and her two brothers as the only remaining descendants of Augustus.
