Answer
Abd al-Karim Qasim was the leader of Iraq from 1958 to 1963. He was overthrown in the Ramadan Revolution, which was led by Ahmed Hassan al-Bakr and Abd al-Salam Arif. The revolution was a result of Qasim's increasingly authoritarian rule and his failure to resolve Iraq's economic problems. The revolution led to the establishment of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party as the ruling party of Iraq.
