Ahmed I was a Turkish sultan who ruled the Ottoman Empire from 1603 to 1617. He is best known for his construction of the Blue Mosque, one of the most famous landmarks in Istanbul. The Blue Mosque was built between 1609 and 1616, and is considered one of the finest examples of Ottoman architecture.
