Ahmed Sékou Touré was a Guinean politician and revolutionary who was the President of Guinea from its independence in 1958 until his death in 1984. He received a secondary education at the Lycée Terrasson de Fougères in Conakry, Guinea, where he was active in student politics. After graduating from secondary school, he worked as a journalist and a trade unionist.
