Al-Hadi was the third Abbasid caliph, ruling from 785 to 786 CE. He succeeded his father, Al-Mahdi, and died on 14 September 786 CE. His reign was marked by a number of challenges, including rebellions and conflicts with the Byzantine Empire. Al-Hadi was known for his harsh treatment of his opponents, and his death was the result of a conspiracy by his own courtiers.
