Answer
Al-Kindi oversaw the translation of Greek scientific and philosophical texts into the Arabic language. This helped to introduce many new ideas and concepts to the Arabic-speaking world, and it also helped to develop the Arabic language itself. Many of the terms used in modern Arabic science and philosophy are derived from Greek, and this is due in large part to Al-Kindi's work.
