Answer
Prince Charles Edward Stuart, also called the Young Pretender or Bonnie Prince Charlie, was reportedly influenced by English translations of Scottish poet Alasdair Mac Mhaighstir Alasdair's works to lead the Jacobite rising of 1745 in pursuit of securing the British throne for his father, James Francis Edward Stuart, known as the Old Pretender. Despite initial success, the rising ultimately failed, culminating in the Battle of Culloden.
