Alasdair MacIntyre is a Scottish-American philosopher. He was born in Scotland in 1929 and became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1968. MacIntyre is best known for his work on ethics, political philosophy, and the history of philosophy. He has taught at several universities in the United States and the United Kingdom, and is currently a professor emeritus at the University of Notre Dame.
