Albert King, born Albert Nelson, was an American blues guitarist and singer. He was known for his distinctive guitar style, which incorporated elements of jazz and funk. King was a major influence on many later blues guitarists, including B.B. King and Eric Clapton. He was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 1983 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013.
