Manutius co-founded the Aldine Press with Andrea Torresano. Torresano was a Venetian printer and businessman who worked with Manutius to publish a number of important works, including the first printed edition of Virgil's Aeneid in 1501. The Aldine Press was a major force in the development of the printing industry, and its books are considered to be some of the finest examples of early printing.
