Lasserre is a commune in the Gers department in southwestern France. It is located about 10 kilometers (6 miles) west of Auch, the capital of the Gers department. The commune has a population of around 1,000 people. It is best known for being the home of Alexandre Grothendieck, one of the most influential mathematicians of the 20th century, who moved there in 1991.
