In his 80s, Alfonso Carlos dedicated himself to the development of Carlist structures in Spain. He believed that the Carlist movement could be revived, and he worked to establish new Carlist organizations and to promote Carlist ideas. He also wrote a number of articles and books on Carlist history and doctrine. Alfonso Carlos died in 1941, at the age of 84.
