Even after achieving scholarly fame, Housman worked at the University College London. He became a professor of Latin there in 1892 and remained there for the rest of his career. He was a very productive scholar and published many works on Latin literature. He was also a gifted poet and published several volumes of poetry, including A Shropshire Lad.
