Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi was the vice president of Yemen under President Ali Abdullah Saleh. Saleh was the president of Yemen from 1990 to 2012, when he resigned in the midst of the Yemeni Revolution. Hadi was then elected as president in an uncontested election. Hadi's term was marked by continued political instability and conflict, including the rise of the Houthi movement.
