Ali Hassan al-Majid, also known as Chemical Ali, was a senior Iraqi government official who served as Interior Minister from 1987 to 1991. During this time, he oversaw the Iraqi government's campaign of chemical weapons attacks against the Kurds, which resulted in the deaths of thousands of people.
