Born in 1852, Alice Liddell was an English girl who became the inspiration for Lewis Carroll's famous children's novel, "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland." She was the daughter of Henry Liddell, the Dean of Christ Church College in Oxford, where Carroll was a mathematics lecturer.
