Alla Nazimova died in 1945, after a long and successful career in Theater and film. She was born in 1879 in Russia and made her stage debut in 1898. She moved to the United States in 1905 and began her film career in 1915. She starred in a number of silent films, including Salome (1922) and Camille (1926).
