Amos Oz (born Klausner, May 4, 1939) is an Israeli novelist, short-story writer, essayist, and poet. He is considered to be one of the most prominent and widely read Israeli writers, and his books have been translated into more than 30 languages. His works often deal with the experience of Jews in the modern world, and with the conflict between Israelis and Palestinians.
