Andrei Tarkovsky’s Solaris is a film based on a sci-fi novel by Stanislaw Lem. It is about a psychologist who is sent to a space station orbiting a planet called Solaris, which is covered in an ocean. The psychologist is there to investigate reports of strange phenomena on the station. He soon discovers that the ocean is sentient and is able to create projections of people from the past.
