Answer
Erin O'Toole succeeded Andrew Scheer as the leader of the Conservative Party in August 2020. A Canadian military veteran and former corporate lawyer, O'Toole had previously served as the Minister of Veterans Affairs and the Shadow Minister of Foreign Affairs. He defeated three other candidates in a leadership race that was triggered by Scheer's resignation following the party's loss in the 2019 federal election.
