Andy Hug was born on 7 September 1964 in Zurich, Switzerland. He was a professional kickboxer and karateka. He was known for his powerful kicks and his signature move, the tornado kick. He won the World Kickboxing Association (WKA) World Light Heavyweight Championship in 1993 and the K-1 World Grand Prix in 1996. He died on 24 August 2000 from a heart attack at the age of 35.
