Answer
Member of the British Empire (MBE) is an honorary order awarded by the British monarch to individuals for outstanding contributions to the arts and sciences, work with charitable and welfare organizations, or public service outside the civil service. It is the lowest-ranking order of the British Empire, but still carries considerable prestige and recognition.
