Anna Chapman was officially accused of spying on behalf of the Russian Federation by the American FBI in 2010. She was extradited to the United States and pleaded guilty to conspiracy to act as an agent of a foreign government. Chapman was sentenced to five years in prison, but was released in 2011 in exchange for four other Russian spies who had been arrested in the United States.
