Anne Carson is an American poet, essayist, translator, and classical scholar. She won the T. S. Eliot Prize in 2001 for her book "Autobiography of Red". The T. S. Eliot Prize is a British literary prize awarded annually by the Poetry Society for a distinguished long poem. It is named after the poet T. S. Eliot.
