Anne Sullivan became a teacher to Helen Keller at the age of 20. She had been a student at the Perkins School for the Blind in Boston, and had learned how to work with blind people. She was also very intelligent and had a strong desire to help others. When she was asked to become Keller's teacher, she agreed immediately.
