Anne Sullivan was not involved in the founding of the Perkins School for the Blind. The school was established in 1829 by Dr. Samuel Gridley Howe, and Sullivan did not arrive at the school until 1880. She was hired as a teacher for Helen Keller, who was one of the first students at the school.
