Anthony Blunt confessed to having been a spy for the Soviet Union in 1964. Blunt was a British art historian and a member of the Cambridge Five spy ring. He had been spying for the Soviet Union since the 1930s. Blunt's confession came after he was confronted by MI5, the British intelligence service. He was later stripped of his knighthood and died in 1983.
