Denikin was loyal to Nicholas II, the last Emperor of Russia. He was a staunch supporter of the monarchy and fought against the Bolsheviks during the Russian Civil War in an attempt to restore the Romanov dynasty. Despite some initial successes, Denikin's forces were ultimately defeated and he went into exile.
