Antony Blinken served in the State Department and on the National Security Council from 1994 to 2001. He was appointed by President Bill Clinton and served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs and then as the Senior Director for Europe and Eurasia on the National Security Council.
