Armin Laschet first started his state politics journey in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2005. He was a member of the state parliament from 2005 to 2010 and was the minister of state for family affairs, youth, women, and senior citizens from 2010 to 2017. In 2017, he became the minister-president of North Rhine-Westphalia and has been in that position ever since.
