Answer
Arthur Seyss-Inquart was the Chancellor of Austria before the Anschluss, which is the annexation of Austria by Nazi Germany. He was a Nazi sympathiser and was appointed Chancellor by the Austrian government in an attempt to prevent the Anschluss. However, Hitler invaded Austria anyway and Seyss-Inquart became the Reich Commissioner for Austria. He was responsible for the persecution of Austrian Jews and other minorities.
