Artur Mas ran for the Catalan presidency five times throughout his political career. He first ran in 2003, where he led the Convergència i Unió (CiU) coalition to victory, becoming the 129th President of Catalonia. Mas served two terms as President until 2010. He ran again in 2012 and 2015, winning both elections and serving until 2016.
