Convergència i Unió (CiU) was a political coalition in Catalonia, Spain, formed in 1978 by the Democratic Convergence of Catalonia (CDC) and the Democratic Union of Catalonia (UDC). It was led by Artur Mas from 2012 to 2016. CiU was the dominant political force in Catalonia for many years, advocating for greater autonomy from Spain.
