August von Hayek was born on 14th December 1871 in Vienna, Austria-Hungary. He was an Austrian economist who was one of the founders of the Austrian school of economics. He was also a Nobel Prize winner in economics in 1974. Hayek's most famous work is The Road to Serfdom, which was published in 1944.
