Lady Gregory was born on March 15, 1852. She was an Irish playwright, folklorist, and theatre manager who was a key figure in the Irish Literary Revival. She co-founded the Abbey Theatre in Dublin with William Butler Yeats and Edward Martyn, and wrote numerous plays that explored Irish history, folklore, and mythology.
