Auroville is a unique experimental township in South India, founded by the spiritual leader Sri Aurobindo in 1968. The township is home to a number of spiritual and cultural institutions, as well as a dedicated space for meditation, known as Matrimandir. Matrimandir is a large, white dome located in the center of Auroville, and is considered to be a sacred space for meditation and reflection.
