Ava Gardner was a part of the Golden Age of Hollywood. She was born in Grabtown, North Carolina, in 1922 and began her career as a model. She was discovered by a talent agent and signed to a contract with MGM in 1941. She starred in a number of films during the Golden Age of Hollywood, including Show Boat (1951), The Killers (1946), and Mogambo (1953).
