Baybars was a Sultan of Egypt and Syria. He is considered one of the most successful and powerful rulers of the Mamluk Sultanate. Baybars led the Mamluks to victory over the Crusaders and the Mongols, and he expanded the sultanate's territory to include Syria and Palestine. He was also a patron of the arts and literature, and he founded the Baybarsiyya Madrasa in Cairo.
