Barbados Joe Walcott was a professional boxer who competed from 1942 to 1967. He was born in Bridgetown, Barbados, and began boxing at the age of 15. Walcott won the world heavyweight championship in 1951, and defended it 12 times before losing it to Muhammad Ali in 1964. He retired from boxing in 1967, and was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1991.
